Castle Pines is a city of about 10,000 located approximately 20 miles south of Denver in Douglas County, Colorado.
It is a secluded community surrounded by more than 15,000 acres of dedicated open space, and the soon to be completed Reuter-Hess Reservoir. Within Castle Pines there are 13 miles of nature trails, 4 parks and 560 acres of open space.
The two elementary schools, middle school and high school serving Castle Pines all have received the highest school ranking available from the state of Colorado. The high school, Rock Canyon High School, was ranked the number one public high school
in metro Denver by 5280 Magazine in 2007. The Ridge at Castle Pines North, located within the neighborhood, is one of Colorado's premier golf courses.
In November 2007, Castle Pines residents voted to incorporate as a new city within Douglas County.
The City of Castle Pines is part of Colorado House District 45 and Colorado Senate District 4.
